Actions Mon 12/18-Fri 12/22/2023

The TwoADay Group in Rhode Island supports a lasting, complete, immediate ceasefire in Israel/Palestine and ending US military aid to Israel. Our name comes from doing morning and afternoon protests every weekday in Rhode Island since the conflict got worse in October 2023. Here are some actions by the TwoADay Group and others in the week of Monday December 18:

TwoADay Group overpass actions at the Cranston I-95 overpass (1 Laurens St between Doric Ave and Wellington Ave): Tue 7:15am to 8:30am, Thu 7:15am to 8:30am. We’ll be holding signs or banners for drivers to see. (UPDATE: we’ll also do a brief overpass action at the same site at 12noon Monday since the weather isn’t good for Monday flyering.)

TwoADay Group street actions at the Federal Courthouse building opposite Kennedy Plaza (1 Exchange Terrace, Providence): Wed 3:15pm to dark, Thu 3:15pm to dark. We’ll be holding signs and passing out flyers encouraging people to take action. Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/728300129333383/728300252666704/ No Monday flyering on 12/18 due to heavy rain (and no Monday flyering on Christmas or New Year’s Day).

RI Antiwar Coalition vigil at the mall side of the State House: Tuesdays and Fridays 3pm to 4pm. (TwoADay Group members will be joining.)

In North Kingstown, a group in the broad TwoADay network will be holding banners for a full ceasefire Wed 2:30-3:30 on Route 1A (overpass over Route 138 before entrance to Jamestown bridge).

No Endless War or Excessive Militarism (NEWEM) will be holding a vigil targeting RI’s senators and congressmen (“Renew the ceasefire! Engage in peace work, not warmongering!”) in Westerly Wednesday 12/20 at the corner of Route 1 and Route 78 — I believe it’s at NEWEM’s customary time of 12noon.
