Actions Tue 11/12 (special protest)-Fri 11/15/2024

Here are some actions by TwoADay.org and others in the week of Tuesday November 12:

ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 12, please join our protest against the destruction of Gaza at 1pm on the Smith St side of the State House. American law bans sending weapons to countries that restrict humanitarian aid, but Israel is ignoring our government’s Nov 12 deadline to allow adequate aid into Gaza. Though Kamala Harris claimed she and Biden are “working around the clock” for a ceasefire, our government ended ceasefire negotiations before the election and told allies not to host negotiators. Our government has repeatedly sent more weapons to Israel, never taking its foot off the gas much as refugees are slaughtered. When politicians keep resisting the full-scale change that’s needed, we must speak up. As the Nov 12 deadline expires, TwoADay.org is protesting to help rouse opposition to our government’s support for the slaughter.

(more actions below)

TwoADay.org overpass actions in Cranston overlooking I-95 (overpass at 1 Laurens St between Doric Ave and Wellington Ave, just south of Park Ave): Tuesday & Thursday 6:30am to 7:30am. We’ll be holding signs and banners for drivers to see.

TwoADay.org street actions at the Federal Courthouse building opposite Kennedy Plaza (1 Exchange Terrace, Providence): Wed and Thu 1:15-2:15pm. We’ll be holding signs and passing out flyers on how people can take concrete steps to help. (No protest Monday since few people will be outside during the holiday; Wed protest coincides with the NEWEM protest mentioned below.)

RI Antiwar Committee vigil at the mall side of the State House: Tuesdays and Fridays 3pm to 4pm. TwoADay Group members will be joining.

No Endless War or Excessive Militarism (NEWEM) will be holding a vigil targeting RI’s senators and congressmen (“Renew the ceasefire! Engage in peace work, not warmongering!”) Wednesday 11/13 1-2:30, in Providence at the edge of Kennedy Plaza across from the Federal Courthouse (where Sen. Reed’s office is).

In North Kingstown, a group in the broad TwoADay network will be holding banners for a full ceasefire, Thursday 3-4pm on Route 1A (overpass over Route 138 before entrance to Jamestown bridge).
