Actions Mon 10/28-Fri 11/1/2024 (plus special protest Wed 10/30)

Here are some actions by TwoADay.org and others in the week of Monday October 28:

ON WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 30 from 1-2pm, please join us in “haunting” Rep. Gabe Amo in a TwoADay.org protest outside the building where his office is (1070 Main St, Pawtucket). Rep. Amo is the biggest recipient of campaign funds in RI from the main pro-Israel lobbying group. This will be a protest to stand up to politicians who talk about ceasefire but refuse to actually help, while more and more weapons continue to be sent to Israel by our government. Rep. Amo has voted to approve arms transfers to Israel at taxpayer expense, fueling a conflict that continues to kill many innocent people in Palestine/Israel and beyond, especially in Gaza.

(more actions below)

TwoADay.org overpass actions in Cranston overlooking I-95 (overpass at 1 Laurens St between Doric Ave and Wellington Ave, just south of Park Ave): Tuesday & Thursday 7am to 8am. We’ll be holding signs and banners for drivers to see.

TwoADay.org street actions at the Federal Courthouse building opposite Kennedy Plaza (1 Exchange Terrace, Providence): Mon and Thu 4-5pm (probably not Wed due to Rep. Amo protest mentioned above). We’ll be holding signs and passing out flyers on how people can take concrete steps to help.

RI Antiwar Committee vigil at the mall side of the State House: Tuesdays and Fridays 4pm to 5pm. (TwoADay Group members will be joining.)

No Endless War or Excessive Militarism (NEWEM) will be holding a vigil targeting RI’s senators and congressmen (“Renew the ceasefire! Engage in peace work, not warmongering!”) Wednesday 10/30 1-2:30, in Warwick at Main Ave & Post Rd, down from Rep. Magaziner’s office (nearest landmark: Greenwood Credit Union).

In North Kingstown, a group in the broad TwoADay network will be holding banners for a full ceasefire, Thursday 4-5pm on Route 1A (overpass over Route 138 before entrance to Jamestown bridge).
