Here are some actions by the TwoADay Group and others in the week of Monday August 5:
TwoADay Group overpass actions in Cranston overlooking I-95 (overpass at 1 Laurens St between Doric Ave and Wellington Ave, just south of Park Ave): Tuesday & Thursday 7:30am to 8:30am. We’ll be holding signs and banners for drivers to see.
TwoADay Group street actions at the Federal Courthouse building opposite Kennedy Plaza (1 Exchange Terrace, Providence): Mon, Wed and Thu 5-6pm. We’ll be holding signs and passing out flyers on how people can take concrete steps to help.
RI Antiwar Coalition vigil at the mall side of the State House: Tuesdays and Fridays 4pm to 5pm. (TwoADay Group members will be joining.)
In North Kingstown, a group in the broad TwoADay network will be holding banners for a full ceasefire, Thursday 12noon on Route 1A (overpass over Route 138 before entrance to Jamestown bridge).
East Bay Citizens for Peace is holding a vigil Saturday 8/10, 11am-12noon in Bristol on Hope St in front of the Bristol Post Office (“Ceasefires everywhere! No $ for war crimes!”).
(There is also a rally for an international ban on nuclear weapons in Jamestown at East Ferry Memorial Square, Tuesday 8/6 12 noon. Speakers include Physicians for Social Responsibiility founder Ira Helfand as well as elected officials at the statewide & town & state-legislative levels; the rally supports the international Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.)
