Here are some actions by the TwoADay Group and others in the week of Monday May 13:
TwoADay Group overpass actions in Cranston overlooking I-95 (overpass at 1 Laurens St between Doric Ave and Wellington Ave, just south of Park Ave): Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30am to 8:30am. We’ll be holding signs and banners for drivers to see.
TwoADay Group street actions at the Federal Courthouse building opposite Kennedy Plaza (1 Exchange Terrace, Providence): Wed and Thu 4:30-5:30. Friday and Saturday, Veterans for Peace is coming through Providence in PeaceWalk2024 as part of a walk from Maine to Washington DC for Peace, Planet, Justice and Democracy. The walkers will arrive at Roger Williams National Memorial between 3 and 5pm Friday, have a celebration event at 6:30 Friday at Sprout Coworking (166 Valley St), followed by a sendoff 9am Saturday at Station Park between the Providence train station and Providence Place Mall. https://peacewalk2024.org
RI Antiwar Coalition vigil at the mall side of the State House: Tuesday 4pm to 5pm but not Friday due to the Veterans for Peace walk. (TwoADay Group members will be joining.)
In North Kingstown, a group in the broad TwoADay network will be holding banners for a full ceasefire Tuesday 4-5 in North Kingstown on Route 1A (overpass over Route 138 before entrance to Jamestown bridge).
No Endless War or Excessive Militarism (NEWEM) will be holding a vigil targeting RI’s senators and congressmen (“Renew the ceasefire! Engage in peace work, not warmongering!”) Wednesday 5/15, 4:30-6, in Warwick at the corner of Main Ave and Post Rd (near Rep. Magaziner’s office, close to the Greenwood Credit Union). Also Saturday 5/18, 4-5:30, in North Kingstown at the corner of Rt. 2 and Rt. 102 (by CVS and Dunkin Donuts).
The documentary “Israelism” will be shown Wednesday 7:30pm in Providence at AS220 Black Box, 95 Empire St.
